Can I bring my dog on a walk?
Dogs are welcome on our walks provided the following measures are kept to:
- The dog should be kept on a lead and under close control at all times. Please bear in mind that some people may not like dogs or may be nervous of them.
- Please do not bring dogs during lambing and calving seasons on walks were there is livestock present as we would not wish to do anything that could cause any level of increased distress to animals at this important time.
- All dog fouling must be cleared up and taken away for proper disposal.
- You and your dog should be able to negotiate styles and gates etc without any assistance from anybody else.
- Please contact the walk leader before each walk as they may have further information relevant to taking dogs on walks. e.g. access restrictions to farm land, electric fences etc.
- Dogs may not be allowed on permissive rights of way. Please check with walk leader before attending walk. If there is any doubt of permission, dogs will not be allowed on walk.
