Day 1: after 3 hours of driving we decide on a nice easy walk, Blencathra!

At base of the snowline, we have a break by Scales Ghyll

After a bit of a scramble we approach the summit, we didn't get many photographs as the summit was in thick cloud

Descending out of the clouds we spot Keswick and Derwent Water

Day 2: Skiddaw & Skiddaw-Little Man via the tourist track.

Looking back at our starting point, Keswick and Derwent Water

An ice encrusted trig point on the summit of Skiddaw. The temperature was around -18 with the wind chill

Chris is so cold and tired he has a little nap

The mention of hot food and a pint soon fires him up

As we come out the clouds, we spot the often ignored Skiddaw Little Man on the left of the photo

Once again the clouds depart the summit when we leave, somebody is having a joke at our expense

Day 3: Newlands Horseshoe. Forecast was not very good so we decided to do a relatively low level walk...

This is where our photos stop, bad weather meant that we had to turn back.

Day 4: Weather not too good so we decide for a low level walk from Keswick to St John's in the Vale via Castlerigg

The maze is thought to be carved by a small cell of monks that lived here in the 13th century. They would have done it on their knees as penitence.
