Meeting Point / Venue
Newark lies on the River Trent, with the River Devon also running through the town. Standing at the intersection of the Great North Road (A1) and the Fosse Way (A46), Newark originally grew around Newark Castle - now ruined - and a large market place - now lined with historic buildings. Walk Difficulty Gradings
- Very Easy:
- Short walk on the flat or with an occasional incline.
- Easy:
- Normal length walk on the flat or over rolling countryside.
- Medium:
- Normal length walk over rolling countryside with a few steep hills to climb or descents.
- Hard:
- Normal length walk over hilly countryside including many steep climbs and descents.
- Very Hard:
- Normal to extended walks over hilly countryside requiring a good head for heights, maybe some easy scrambling involved but nothing dangerous.
