- When:
-
Sun 25 Apr 2010
10:30 h - 16:00 h - Where:
- White Hart - North Scarle
A circular 11 mile walk starting and finishing in the tranquil village of North Scarle, near Eagle and Swinderby. On today's walk we shall be following quite country lanes and field paths to reach the banks of the River Trent. Heading south along the riverside path, whilst listening to the gentle lapping of the Trent and the song of skylarks overhead, we shall be passing the many ponds and flood lagoons that were formerly a site of extensive gravel extraction. Since industry has left, the area is now teaming with wildlife and is now a designated nature reserve. From the nature reserve as Besthorpe it's all fine country paths back to North Scarle.
- We regret that this walk is not suitable for dogs -
